Thursday

A Month Later...

I finally have some more wedding pictures.

Friday

One Busy Week

Well, week one in my new apartment. It's been pretty eventful. The first few days I've mostly just been moving in, back and forth from Tremonton to Logan. I've also been looking for a new job. Last night Katie and I went up and down mainstreet collecting applications. We were stopped outside Papa Murpheys, and when I went to start Mikey again POP, there was a huge bang, and smoke appeared from under the hood. We stopped the car pretty quickly. The tow truck came for Mikey today, but they won't be able to tell me what's wrong with him until Monday.
So, today Katie and Kaylene were driving me to work. We were stopped at a light about a block away when WHACK, the car behind us jolted us forward, having been hit by the car behind them.

Luckily, no one was hurt, and the cars were only scraped up a bit. Katie and I got the worst of the whiplash being in the front, but other than that we're alright. I was late for work though. Quite the day.

My New Apartment- an Epic in 4 Parts

Sunday

Moving On

Well, I meant just what I said. It's time to move on. This last semester hasn't gone at all the way I imagined it would. Some things were good. Most, not so great. But it's time to move on. Tomorrow morning I start moving into my new apartment, with new roommates, some I know, and some I don't yet. That's not the only thing that's changing. I'm going to kick out my old habits, and get started on some better ones. I have quite a bit of work to do. I think in the past year I've forgotten who I want to become. It's time that I found me again.

And here's hoping that the guys in my new ward are cute.

Saturday

More Stories with Grandpa

Well, it's been quite a busy day. Kendra and I went to American Fork this morning, and after about an hour of wandering around lost we finally found the Temple. We got there just after two wards did, and they said there would be over an hours wait just to get in. So now that we knew our way around the city we ran some errands, and got back to the Temple at just the perfect time. There were only two girls in front of us, we did baptisms and were in and out in an hour. That's Temple number 4 crossed off my list. I've now been to Logan, Salt Lake, Provo, and Mt. Timp. Now I only have 7 and two halves left in Utah. Kelle's been excited to play with the baby calves all day, and then we had a campfire in the backyard and roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. And still she isn't tired yet.

Well, time to go play Barbies.

Friday

Reading Stories with Grandpa

Kelle-isms of the Day:

1. (Holding out her finger to show me) "I got these boogers out of my nose."

2. "Oh that is beautiful. It has sprinkles on it." (A Barbie dress with sparkles.)

3. "No, I've gotta get these boogers out of my nose. Dang boogers!"

4."Daddy, I want a bicycle." (she wanted a popsicle.)

5."It's not too high for twinkies!" (a lightswitch.)

Thursday

I can do it myself.

One three year old,

three different colors of nail polish,

and ten beautiful fingers.

Tuesday

Ok, I'll admit it

Whitney may die of shock if she ever sees that I said this (mostly because I'm so vocal about my dislike of their kissing in front of me), but I really like this picture. It has that old fashioned Casablanca feel to it, it's so sweet.

Calculated Procrastination

You know, I've always been a procrastinator. Even in elementary school I did all of my reports and projects the night before. Ever tried designing a board game all in one night? It's not easy. In high school a friend of mine introduced me to the concept of calculated procrastination. He was a real professional. I'm afraid that through time, I've gotten worse. The bad part is though, that I'm good at procrastinating. Take today. I had to give a final speech for my leadership class. The assignment was given about three weeks ago. I did do a lot of thinking about it, but I just couldn't ever commit to a topic, until, well, I started writing my speech this afternoon around one o'clock. I gave it this afternoon at five o'clock. And sadly, I completely aced it. My professor even said that my preparation was excellent, and asked how long I'd been working on it.
But, the good thing is, two finals down, only one to go. I have one more test tomorrow morning, then I finish packing, work for a couple of hours, and I am out of here. You know, it's funny. I've been waiting for this semester to just end for a while, and now it really is I think I'm going to miss it.
Well, every new beginning is some beginning's end.

Tuesday

You know you're an insomniac when....

  • You have the tv schedule memorized from 12-3 am.
  • Your roommates awaken to find the apartment looks completely different from the night before.
  • You answer random text messages that come your way at 4 am.
  • You send those same random text messages.
  • Pulling an all nighter is no big.
  • You hold the all time high score on solitare/majong/tetris.
  • All of your pictures are sorted, labeled, and tagged.
  • You can keep up with the celeb buzz on Brittney, Paris, and Miley.
  • You don't have any new e-mails since you last checked 5 minutes ago.
  • You have your entire wedding planned, except for the groom.

Friday

Friday is my favorite day

Hooray! As of this morning I am officially done with classes!
True, I still have finals, but only a couple of them. And it's Friday. I am so close to being done I can almost taste it. Or maybe that's the cake...
Anyway, I think I had a point, but I don't remember what it was. Good night.

Thursday

Spring has sprung, the grass has risen. Can't wait til May 2 to get out of PRISON!

There's a bulletin board downstairs in my building that says that. I completely agree, except that Spring hasn't really quite fully sprung. Sad, isn't it, that it's the end of April and yet it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Sigh. But, lucky for me, I don't have to wait until May 2, my last final is Wednesday the 30th. I have to work that night and then I'm off to Idaho for the rest of the week, to marry off my first best friend of the summer. (The next one's not until June.)

I am SO ready to get out of here. I even started packing today. My apartment looks really empty just pulling stuff off the walls. I think it's the prison white that these walls are painted. They're actually doing renovations this summer. Getting new couches and painting colors on the walls. Oh well, I'm moving out anyway, and I'm never coming back. I am ready for a change.

There is one thing I'd like to know before I go though. And that's who in the world gave me this.

Not the greatest picture I know, but it's a ziplock bag, with about a half a cup of flour in it. It says To: Megan
heart/Secret Admirer
It's pretty much the most random thing that's ever been doorbell ditched here. And we don't even have a doorbell. I would guess that this is from a girl though. Boys don't usually sign their names with hearts.
Guess what, One week and I am Outta Here!

Disillusioned

Did you know that you can't really prick your finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel? I mean, a spindle point is, on average, around pencil width, and they're not sharp at all. They're hollow, like a straw. They do come in all different sizes, big and small, but to get one small enough to prick your finger it would have to be one made to spin super fine lace. So really, King Stephan burned a whole lot of spinning wheels for nothing, and those things are expensive.

Stinkin Grimm brothers.

Dun dun da dun!

Here it is, magical bridesmaid dress number 3. (obviously this isn't me wearing it.) I'm nearly safe. After June 20, when I actually get to wear this dress, I'll officially be an old maid! Hooray!
P.S. Happy True Aggie Night everyone.

Tuesday

You just can't get romantic with a long time friend.

Oh yes, my boy troubles. I forgot.

Anyway, this is the bouquet I made for Whitney's bridal pictures. And all weekend we've been working to figure out the finishing touches on Whitney's wedding, including our dress fittings on Saturday, Whitney's bridal shower is coming up on Sunday, and I spent the whole weekend with Shayla and her fiance. Is it any wonder that I'm a little loopy? Not to mention that I hardly slept at all this weekend. But then, no sleep is normal for me. Anyhow, on my way back from Tremonton to Logan, after I'd dropped off Maddi and I was on my own.... I called Matthew. Dumb of me, I know, but I did it. My excuse was to see how he's doing on his job of getting... never mind, that's classified at the moment. Anyhow, I'd given him this assignment a few months ago, and was just checking back to make sure that he remembered. He was in a good mood, and I was in a good mood, and we just started talking. And suddenly I was asking him to be my date for Whitney's reception. That is not what was supposed to come out. I was going to tell him that I was bringing a date, and ask if he would mind saving a dance for me. But I asked him. Because, of all the dumb reasons, I do want him to be my date. He said maybe. True Matthew fashion. He hates to tell me no, and so he says maybe, maybe, maybe, until he finally says no. How is it that he makes me forget that? He always says no. Ok, not always, but the vast majority of the time. Sigh.
Out of the fire and into the fire again, you make me want to forget and start all over.

Monday

My Weekend in Poccy

Sorry, it's kinda been a long time coming. But, here's my weekend report. Would you believe I managed to get myself into more boy trouble this weekend? Anyway, I'll get there. So, this weekend, Friday after work I packed up and left. I stopped in Tremonton to visit Katie, who still has pnemonia, and after quite a bit of convincing and a little bit of a drama queen reaction I convinced Maddi to come to Pocatello with me and stay with Shayla and Jason for the weekend. So, we went up. Friday night we watched the Jetsons movie. Incredibly cheesy, definitely old school, but still ok. Saturday we did some flower shopping, and then we went to Shelley so Shay and I could be fitted for our new bridesmaid dresses for Whitney's wedding. Then we went back to Poccy, Shayla made us a wonderful spaghetti dinner, and then we went to the Institute to see the City of Joseph pageant that Shayla and Jason were in. It was pretty good, with just the right amount of pageant-y cheesiness. Church the next morning, Maddi went to her first RS meeting, then the ward pot-luck, we went for a walk and left for home. It was a pretty good weekend.

Tuesday

P.S. I dyed my hair this weekend.

3 Times

Kevin: Wait, what are those?
Jane: Nothing.
Kevin: Are those?
Jane: NO.
Kevin: Are they bridesmaid dresses?
Jane: This is none of your business!
Kevin: Ohhh... goodness. What, you kept them all? You have a whole closet full, why?
Jane: I have a lot of friends and I like to keep them.
Kevin: Right. Well, that makes complete sense because they're... beautiful.
Jane: Some of them are not that bad.
Kevin: Not that bad? I'd like to see one of them that's not that bad.

I guess I'm lucky. I've never been in a theme wedding or anything like that (although I must say, I thought those Gone with the Wind dresses looked like fun when I saw the movie.) And the dress I already have I actually have worn again since the wedding. True, I don't wear it very often, but then, daily life is not exactly a formal occasion. Anyway, my point. I promise it is coming up here. So today I went to try on my dress that I'm going to wear at Shayla's wedding. And suddenly it hit me. Shayla's wedding will be my third as a bride's maid. A rather silly thing to be concerned about, I know. Especially if you consider the weddings that I've been pretty much an unofficial bridesmaid, like Sonya's and Amanda's.
But still. I don't know that I'm quite ready to be feeling this old.

Do you ever feel so many things that it's hard to put everything into words? I feel so many things that I don't quite know how to feel once they're all averaged out even. Am I happy, am I sad, am I scared, lonely, or confused? I think the answer is yes, all of the above. And quite a few more emotions as well. I feel as though I have multiple personalities, one for each emotion out there. And so, while I'm feeling everything at once I at the same time feel nothing, like I'm split in so many directions that all that's left behind is an empty shell. I really need to start getting my life figured out. One thing's for sure, I need a comfier couch. I'm hoping my new apartment will have a good one. But I think what I really need is a friend. Someone I can talk to when I get stuck in a feeling like this. Someone who understands that I only act like this when I'm sleep deprived and horrormonal. Someone to give me good smelling hugs and just tell me what I want to hear until I'm back to normal. But I don't think I've met him yet.
Listen to me being all sappy and dramatic. I think that's a sure sign that I'd better get to sleep soon. Goodnight, sweet dreams.

Saturday

There's no way that should have worked.

Good Morning. And guess what, it really is morning. 2:3o am, to be precise.
So anyway, as I was deliberating on what to do, I ran into Lori. Like any good Mom, she distracted me with something different. She and Tonya R. and I went to the USU Ballroom Dance show tonight at Ellen Eccles. I will concede that the BYU ballroom shows I've been to are a little better, but this one was pretty good. It just made me want to dance. But I don't have anybody to dance with. Sigh. It was also a lot shorter of a show than we expected it to be, only about 45 minutes.
So when we were done and we weren't quite ready to head home we went to A&W. Did you know that stands for Allen & Wright? Well, now you do. We didn't know either, but we wanted to, so Tonya asked the cashier. We had some very good food, and then we just sat around for forever. We did some crank calling on each other's phones, that was pretty interesting. Tonya's pretty good at crank calling, I must admit, though Lori was doing alright with her fake accent thing. Eventually we decided we'd better be heading home, but first we stopped at the prize machines. They both got rings, but I got a necklace with a silver dollar sign on it-my bling.
Then, we went to Smith's to get me some hair dye, since I need to get rid of the line that's grown out since the last time I dyed my hair and Tonya's pretty much an expert on these things. We picked me out a pretty color, and decided that while we were there we might as well pick up a few other things. Strawberries were on sale.
When we finally came back to Merrill we went to 202, Rob Hall's apartment. He's invited Tonya over to watch a movie on his sweet hd bigscreen. I'd met Rob before, of course, he's in our ward. But I hadn't ever really talked to him before. (Ok, and I still haven't really talked to him. How much talking do you do while you're watching a movie?) He's a nice guy though, and we watched Sahara with him, his roommate Ben T., and Danny, the guy that I'd been considering hitting up for a ride to Provo this weekend. Looks like he's not going. It was a pretty good movie. I'd seen it once before actually, but at that time I hadn't really been paying attention to it. I like the chick's accent. Ben said sometime we should read the books Dirk Pitt wrote about his adventures. That's what the movie's based off of.
All in all, it was a pretty fun night. I love hanging out with guys. They're so easy to get along with.
Well, I'd better be getting to bed. General Conference in the am you know, the first one with a new prophet, and the calling of a new apostle. I'm excited. Oh, and we're going to dye my hair tomorrow. Good night.

P.S. I love strawberries.

Friday

My Crazy Mixed Up Life

Good Morning. So how's life?

So, Katie and I were planning to go to Pocatello this weekend to see Shayla's super awesome pageant and go wedding shopping. But, Katie called me last night to tell me she was sick, and today she's even worse, so we've decided to go see Shay next week. Which leaves me with the problem of what to do this weekend.

I have three options.

I could go home, I could stay here, or I could go to Provo.

Option 1, Provo.
This would involve hitching a ride, but I could see Renee...
But I'll do something stupid and go talk to Matthew. Which would be dumb of me.

Option 2, Go home.
I love my family, but I went home every single weekend in March.

Option 3, Stay here.
I always think what fun it would be to hang out for the weekend. But then I sit in my room and do nothing. Not fun.

Choices, choices, choices.

Thursday

36th Ward Relief Society Birthday Party

Hooray! It's over! It went pretty well though, and we had more people than I expected. Around the time I was grocery shopping last night I started to worry that nobody was going to show up. But they did, and they ate, and they had fun, I think, so it was good. But it's over. Yay.

Wednesday

April Fool's Day

Once upon a time it was a random Tuesday evening. Lori and Bethany had just finished professing their undying love for each other, without saying a word. They were in a little bit of a loopy mood, but the interpretive dance was great. They came out of their room and joined Jessica, who was snacking on popcorn flavored lettuce. (zero points!) Just then Megan knocked on the door. "I'm bored," she said. Suddenly, a blur flew past her through the door, giggling as it ran into the hallway and slammed the door.
"Wow, that was odd." Bethany said.
"Just act natural." Lori answered.
So they sat and plotted their murders.
Jessica was not murdered, she just dropped dead. That can happen sometimes when you're gorgeous.
Bethany, also, was not technically musrdered. She was at home one weekend, taking care of her sheep. But, her sheep had gotten hooked on Doritos, and stampeded when they saw that she had a new bag. Unfortunately, sheep have bad aim, and poor Bethany was struck by a stray hoof.
Lori was actually murdered, though accidentally. One day, when she was alive and living healthily, she mistakenly told Peter that and alligator was a "large insect." Since, it being April and the weather not being retarded, there was no snow on the ground he could not simply re-igloo her car. Instead, he decided to re-igloo her car in green jello. He did not realize, though, that Lori had fallen asleep in her car. She woke up in a blob of green jello, and decided that the best way to escape was to eat her way out. Unfortunately, Lori had been the one to teach Peter how to make jello. He'd discovered a way to make it stiffer than she did, but it was still rather inedible. Lori died of food poisoning before she could make it out.

Once upon a time... later. In that same far off kingdom, there dwelt a young man named Mark. He was an upstanding young man, big, straight, a pillar of the community. One day he was sitting in his room, staring at a blank wall, doing homework. Suddenly his phone rang. (Ring ring)
"Mark!" It was Lori. "My computer! I was working on my homework, ok, so I was really playing on facebook, but my computer! It spontaneously combusted!"
"Sigh," Mark sighed. This happened about four times a day. "I'll be right there."
Mark really was on his way to help Lori with her computer, but as he was leaving his room he was accosted by his roommates. They had a barrell of monkeys.
And I'm really just not sure how well this plan was thought through. ...Master?
Ok, so forget the barrell of monkeys. Mark really did go help Lori put out the fire that her somputer had started. After he covered 211 with fire extinguisher foam he decided to go get ice cream.
He walked to the NFS building and stood pondering, should I get Aggie blue mint or caramel cashew? Fortunately, just then Justin came in, and was able to explain the different characteristics each flavor exemplified. Finally Mark decided on Lemon Custard, and left Justin to get back to his Jane Austen hating.
Mark really didn't feel like going back to his apartment to stare at blank white walls, so he decided to go for a drive. He climbed into his awesome jeep and headed up the canyon. After a while he pulled over to the side of the road. Getting out and walking around he saw some tracks and decided to follow them, thinking it might be a moose. He followed the tracks into a large round cave.
"Ah ha!" he thought. "I must be getting closer, it's leading me into its lair."
He was still following the tracks when the train hit him.
